So it turns out that John McCain already had his sights set on Cindy before he left Carol. Sounds to me, from way out here, that Carol was a nice lady, so that when John left her, it was easy to understand the wrath of friends like Ronald and Nancy. Especially since Carol had been injured in an accident and was left with some permanent “scars.” How could he?

“He was 40 and wanted to be 25,” his first wife generously explained. It’s true that no one really know what goes on in a marriage except for the two “insiders.” So was he just a “jerk” or was she just not very interested in him either? No one else will ever really know.

Maybe Carol didn’t like the guy and had emotionally left him to fend for himself. It’s possible. I hear that every day at work as a love doctor in the “OC”, (famous as a land of desperate housewives and frustrated husbands.)

Wives who “fall down on the job,” by getting hurt or fat and especially by becoming sexually and otherwise disinterested in their husbands, are left for younger, sexier and in some cases, more influential women with status they can bank on.

I’m not a John McCain fan, but I recognize that the old boys club will not discount him for deeds that other men who can, have at least considered. Many women will identify with Cindy and support “true love” at any cost. Many wives… Republican voters… may be afraid to speak up or change their vote, because of personal fears about their own vulnerabilities.

Maybe your guy really is a “jerk” and you want to get rid of him anyway. If he’s not:

Dr. Linda says: Vote as you will. Then put some new energy into your marriage… and remember that a little sparkle goes a long way.
